Now comes the fun part! It’s time to revisit the original trilogy and have a bit of fun with the Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope FTS Drinking Game! Now I will say, from this point forward, I’m using the Star Wars Saga Blu-Rays as film reference. These films will have many changes from their original theatrical release and their 1997 re-release and their 2004 DVD release and so on and so forth. Some of the game rules will be based on these changes so if you’re watching the original trilogy on VHS, you’ll be drinking less than those who are watching the DVD/Blu-Rays. Lucky you? Either way, ready yourself for a trip down memory lane with the film that started it all and the Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope FTS Drinking Game! May the force be with you… and seriously, let the wookie win.

A New Hope is the movie that originally started it all. This film introduced legions of audiences to the Star Wars universe way back in 1977. It also introduced everyone to Chewbacca, a 200 year old Wookiee who flys around in the Millennium Falcon with Hans Solo. Chewbacca was such a bad ass character that Firestone Walker Brewing Company tipped their hat to him when naming one of their most recent beers. Firestone Walker’s Wookey Jack is a cousin of their Union Jack IPA. The difference comes from the roasted barley and rye malts used in the new beer. Also, there is a bit more citrus flavor (think orange peel) due to the addition of Citra hops. The beer is delicious, with a good mix of bitter fruit and dark breads notes. Like A New Hope, this beer is a great experience from beginning to end.
