afterCan’t really complain about my April movie month. I enjoyed the Evil Dead remake, had great post-movie discussions with Lindsay about Trance, thought 42 was quite respectable, and was wowed by my IMAX visual experience with Oblivion. Not to mention I got to live out one of my childhood dreams by seeing Jurassic Park in theaters. I still really need to see The Place Beyond the PinesMud, and Pain & Gain so there’s still more April enjoyment to be had. May looks like it might be a decent follow up to all the recent success I’ve had at the theaters.

trance I actually had a decent month at the movies in March, enjoying Stoker and Spring Breakers while not completely regretting watching Oz the Great and Powerful. Other FTSer’s enjoyed The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and The Call so that’s not a terrible showing. Going into this month there’s not many options in general, but hopefully there’s a few good ones in there.

stoker Just as expected, January was a super boring month. I only managed to see Zero Dark Thirty (which is a 2012 movie anyway) and Mama which was nothing to get excited about. Maybe February will be better but probably not by much.

zeroIt’s a new year, and with that comes the annual month of studios dumping their movies in January, hoping something manages to make money in the weak month but not counting on them to do much. This month however has at least a few movies I’m looking forward to seeing.

I was lucky to see a bunch of films in November that all had something to really enjoy about each of them. This month has the last chance for a film to break into your favorite films of the year and there’s certainly some worthy competition.

This year only has two months left of films and November has a ton of them fit into a few weeks time. Of course, there’s a bunch of Thanksgiving weekend offerings along with a slew of Oscar contenders and fan anticipated movies.

September actually kinda sucked. I did see one of my favorite movies so far this year, Looper (obviously) but I also saw and downright hated, Trouble With The Curve.  I did miss a few films that I still want to see like The Master and Dredd so maybe I should reserve my judgement though. Here’s hoping October brings a few more promising films.

The summer movie season is over and honestly it wasn’t that great. There were a few great films like The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises, and I really liked some underrated and underperformed movies like Premium Rush and Hit & Run, but for the most part it was a pretty weak season. The summer comedy offerings were especially weak. I’m excited to get into the fall movie season though which has a bunch of highly anticipated films.

The only movie in July I really enjoyed was The Dark Knight Rises. It was a pretty solid enjoyment, so I guess I can’t hate on the past month too bad but I could certainly go for some more options in August.
