Fellow film blogger Squasher from Film Actually is hosting a contest in honor of the upcoming Oscars. While the real nominations will be announced tomorrow, the contest asks you to make your predictions beforehand. In true FTS spirit, I’m getting mine in at the last minute. Keep reading to see what I movies I think will be nominated.
Like a lot of other film fans, I have a love/hate relationship with the Oscars. Sometimes the Academy picks my favorites or choices I find the most deserving, and other times they completely confound me. I like to debate them though, and would love to actually blog more about the race. I feel like I’m always short on time, so I rely on all the other movie blogs out there to give me their best speculation and updates. Here are five blogs I follow (and so should you) to get the scoop on all the awards coverage.

Movie lovers all over gather together every year for the highest honors in the film industry, the Academy Awards. The FTS crew are no exception, but while you’re busy fighting off sleep, we’ll be bitching via webcast as we chat live for this year’s awards. In preparation for the event, we placed out votes for the potential winners. Take a look at who we think will be taking home the show’s biggest honors and read the details for how you can watch along with us on Oscars night!
Below are the list of nominees in each category. The names in bold represent the nominees we expect to win in that category. Our names will be listed along side the choices we have made. Remember, these are the films we expect to win but aren’t necessarily rooting for. Our personal tastes are wildly different in a lot of cases.
