The summer’s nearly over and it’s time to think about snuggling up and watching some new movie releases. But after what seems like a lack of movies over the summer, what have we got to look forward to in the coming months? Here’s a list of the most anticipated movies for Fall 2016, and why you should go and see them.
Even if you’re too young to remember the original, this sequel to the 1999 horror-mystery will have you on the edge of your seat. The movie follows James and his college student friends, who venture into the sinister Black Hills Forest in Maryland to find out what happened to his sister.
The whole movie is based around the legend of the Blair Witch, just like the original and similarly, everything seems to be going fine until the peace is shattered by a menacing presence that shows that Blair Witch may be more than just a legend.
It’s due for release on September 16th, so get your popcorn ready.
La La Land
This romantic comedy/drama with a bit of music thrown in for good measure, is written and directed by Damien Chazelle of Whiplash fame, and stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Stone plays Mia, an aspiring actress who spends her days serving up coffee to movie stars while waiting for yet another audition. Gosling takes on the role of a jazz musician who spends most evenings playing gigs in dingy bars.
As each of them starts to experience success in their respective careers, they have to face situations and make decisions that start to eat away at their love, and the dreams they’ve worked so hard to realize.
The movie premiered at the Venice International Film Festival at the end of August, and while it’s set to premiere in Toronto later in September, it’s not due for general release until December, so you’re going to have to wait a little while longer to see it.
The Girl on the Train
Produced by Dreamworks, The Girl on the Train is based on the best seller of the same name by Paul Hawkins. Emily Blunt stars at the troubled young woman who develops an unhealthy fascination with a seemingly perfect couple whose home she passes as she travels on the train.
One day, she unwittingly witnesses a murder and becomes drawn into the investigation. This film looks like it will have you on the edge of the seat, just as you’d be if you were playing online games. As for me I used to play games featured on APNET.com Casino.
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back
If you loved the original Jack Reacher film starring Tom Cruise, you’ll be happy to know that he’s reprising his role of Jack Reacher, the ex-army officer who just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.
Due for release on October 21, the story is one of a series penned by Lee Child, and sees Reacher trying to uncover the truth behind a major government conspiracy. Expect lots of action, and lots of revelations about Reacher’s past.
These are just some of the most anticipated films of Fall 2016, and there’s plenty more in the offing. So get your popcorn ready, settle down, dim the lights and get ready to watch the action.
