If you’re like me and you weren’t aware of the upcoming Leprechaun prequel coming out then you probably also weren’t aware that it stars WWE wrestler Hornswoggle….or the fact that there is a small wrestler named Hornswoggle. [First teaser poster for WWE’s Leprechaun: Origins starring Hornswoggle]

Another Sinister film is on the way which I for one am excited for. The sequel is being directed by Ciaran Foy who also directed the indie hit Citadel. [The ‘Sinister 2′ Director is ‘Citadel’ Filmmaker Ciaran Foy]

trailers

Anna

Director: Jorge Dorado / Stars: Noah Taylor, Taissa Farmiga, & Mark Strong

The only thing seemingly noteworthy about this trailer (besides the wonderful Mark Strong) is some of the odd camera cuts/editing sprinkled throughout. Otherwise, this seems like a fairly prosaic thriller. I’m going to hope that I’m wrong though and keep an optimistic head with this one.

SX_Tape

Director: Bernard Rose / Stars: Caitlyn Folley, Julie Marcus, & Ian Duncan

This looks horrendous. Like a culmination of all these subpar found footage genre films. For starters, I don’t even understand who thought this would make for a fine plot of a horror film. I mean, I feel like you get what’s coming to you if you decide to make a crappy “home movie” in an abandoned creep-place. A stunt only Farrah Abraham would pull. Other than the premise, the “scares” are just not present and even though the acting seems passable I get the feeling that no one really cared very much in putting this movie together.

Proxy

Director: Zack Parker / Stars: Joe Swanberg, Kristina Klebe, & Alexia Rasmussen

I was buying this for the first half of the trailer and then BAM, Joe Swanberg shows up and now I’ve got my money out of my pocket and on the counter. Okay, maybe I was just pleasantly surprised to see the familiar face but on a serious note, I think this looks really interesting. It’s a solid teaser that doesn’t appear to give away all the surprises. I’ll definitely keep my eye out for this one.

Coherence

Director: James Ward Byrkit / Stars: Emily Baldoni, Maury Sterling, & Nicholas Brendon

I don’t know. I mean, seriously, I don’t really know what’s going on here. That seems to be the point of Coherence, from the small bits I am gathering. The visuals do look appealing and the pull quotes are somewhat provocative if that does anything for you. I look forward to reading a few reviews on this one before hunting it down myself.

The Green Inferno

Director: Eli Roth / Stars: Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, & Daryl Sabara

This is a teaser but it’s just that: a teaser. I enjoy most of the details surrounding the project so far – Roth’s involvement, the Cannibal Holocaust subject, and the title. If done right, this could be a real return for Eli Roth and bring him back to the gory stories that made me fall in love with him in the first place. Actually… I think I only liked the guy when he made Hostel but after I saw him in person it was his eyebrows that cemented my adoration.
