Maybe you’re looking to save a few bucks or the current theater choices just aren’t cutting it. Whatever the case may be, sometimes it’s just as nice to sit at home and watch a good flick. Take a look at this week’s picks for some At-Home Alternatives to the weekly cinema options.

Instead of Anchorman: The Legend Continues, watch: Dumb and Dumber
Anchorman 2 has some big shoes to fill considering the crazy quotability and all the hilarious gags that ran through it’s predecessor. You could watch the first film at home or try another equally side-splitting comedy, Dumb and Dumber. A classic for the genre featuring gut busting performances from Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels, and a quotable line for almost every minute of its running time, Dumb and Dumber is the Farrelly Brothers at their finest. Instead of Walking with Dinosaurs, watch: The Land Before Time
This new animated flick looks quite pretty and story-wise seems cute but if you can’t afford a trip to the movies with little ones this week, try unearching the classic animated flick The Land Before Time. Truthfully, I haven’t seen the film since I became an adult but I watched the movie religiously as a child and even teared up most of the time. Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)
Most critics faulted Insidious 2 for its lack of scares in comparision to the original. While I agree with this notion I found that the overall goal of this sequel was much different than the first film. Horror fans should be pleased with the myserty and story expansion presented in Chapter Two. Check out my full review here.
