trailers

The Last Days on Mars

Director: Ruairi Robinson / Stars: Liev Schreiber, Romola Garai, Elias Koteas

I just sort of stumbled upon this in my trailer travels but it really grabbed my attention. It starts off in familiar sci fi territory but something tells me that this will rise above some of the genre duds. The cast looks solid, the mystery has caught me and I see a lot of other great science fiction inspiration. I doubt it will climb to the level of Alien but it might play as well as Sunshine.

Argento’s Dracula 3D

Director: Dario Argento / Stars: Thomas Kretschmann, Marta Gastini, Asia Argento

This is the first I’m hearing about this new Argento flick. Nothing about the project surprises me except maybe the 3D component. Argento has a soft spot for over the top theatrics (think of all his opera related films) so this old school production of Dracula doesn’t shock me. Admittedly, the movie doesn’t look very good and if it weren’t for Dario’s name being attached I would steer clear. It can’t be worse than Mother of Tears.

We Are What We Are

Director: Jim Mickle / Stars: Bill Sage, Ambyr Childers, Julia Garner

Interesting title and trailer to boot. I like the tone and atmosphere of the film a lot. It has potential to be a creepy gothic story so I will keep this on my radar for sure.

Autumn Blood

Director: Markus Blunder / Stars: Sophie Lowe, Peter Stormare, Maximilian Harnisch

What a stunning trailer. The striking visuals coupled with the mounting tension created a really effective film reel. I will keep my eye out for this one.

Plus One

Director: Dennis Iliadis / Stars: Rhys Wakefield, Logan Miller, Ashley Hinshaw

This isn’t so much horror as it it supernatural thriller but I thought it actually looked interesting. It’s an original enough concept and has a feel to it unlike most trailers and films I’ve been seeing lately. It has a lot of potential to be a whole lot of fun. I can’t wait to try it out.
