Maybe you’re looking to save a few bucks or the current theater choices just aren’t cutting it. Whatever the case may be, sometimes it’s just as nice to sit at home and watch a good flick. Take a look at this week’s picks for some At-Home Alternatives to the weekly cinema options.

Instead of 2 Guns: Training Day
I must say the paring of Denzel Washington and Mark Whalberg is an interesting one. It’s a nice combo that you wouldn’t normally put together but works, sorta like dipping your fries in your vanilla ice cream cone at McDonalds (try it!) . If you can’t make it to the theaters to see these two get their buddy-cop on, stay home and watch Training Day. Denzel plays a crooked cop that gives a new recruit (Ethan Hawke) a first day he won’t forget.

Instead of Smurfs 2, watch :Kung Fu Panda 2
When I tell you I have no desire on seeing Smurfs 2, please believe me. I know I’m not its intended audience, I’m not 8 years old nor do I have an 8 year old to take to see this defilement of my childhood. If you can’t get the kids down to your local picture show to catch this smurfin’ piece of smurf, stay home and watch Kung Fu Panda 2. The movie is fun, looks great, and is very entertaining.

Oblivion
Anything that has Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman is a something that I want to see. Add the fact the movie looks drop dead gorgeous and you can guarantee a purchase from me. Not that it takes much for me to buy a movie, but you get the idea.

Breaking Bad
If you are not watching Breaking Bad, I need you to do 3 things. First, pull your head out of your ass. Second, roll away the boulder you’ve been living under. And lastly, get over to Netflix and watch some of the best television ever crafted. All the current episodes are now available on Netflix, just in time to catch up before the new ones start next week.

Breaking Bad Netflix Synopsis: Emmy winner Bryan Cranston stars as Walter White, a high school science teacher who learns that he has terminal lung cancer and teams with a former student to manufacture and sell high-quality crystal meth to secure his family’s future.

What do you plan on watching this week, at home or otherwise? What do you think of my choices?
