Just a little biweekly poll here at FTS, just a little question of This or That? What do you prefer and why? You can take any reasoning you want but you must chose one over the other. The poll can also be found on the sidebar of the blog page.
In the last This or That poll Annie Hall creamed the competition When Harry Met Sally with an 11-4 victory. The new match-up is a scholarly affair:

Good poll. Ultimately, I think my obvious answer would be high school flicks, because they touch on an age that’s so uncomfortable and developing. It’s cool to look back on movies like that and relate to the awkwardness or great moments you took advantage of (recently Perks of Being a Wallflower comes to mind). Brat Pack wise, the Breakfast Club is a pure classic, but I also really loved St Elmo’s Fire…which is college, but more post-college I guess. Great post
Surprisingly tough question. I had to go High School (Fast Times, Ferris Bueller, Breakfast Club, etc). Too many of my faves set there compared to college.
This is an interesting topic because I suddenly realised I have never differentiated between the two. When I think about it, I’d have to go to the lower end of the age spectrum – so High School. The stories make for a more interesting dynamic in the depiction of adolescence.
Why have I never thought of comparing these two sub-genres? I’d have to say high school because there are more and higher quality films. Perks put high school back on the map.
