Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. It’s full of creativity, junk food and horror movies – three things I have a hard time saying NO to. Every year I dress up in costume and usually it’s as a film character. So because I like embarass myself at least once a year (anyone that listens to the FTS Podcast knows I do that on a weekly basis) I figured I’d try my hand at putting together a few movie character Halloween costumes for you readers! Take a mintute to check out the first costume I’ve wrangled up and see how you can become Mr. Fox for Wes Anderson’s 2009 film Fantastic Mr. Fox.

THE BASICS

In order to become Mr. Fox you first need to pull together his basic outfit. Mr. Fox wears a tan corduroy suit and underneath a pale yellow collared sweater. The suit will be the most expensive piece of the costume, especially if you buy it online, but you might get lucky by hitting up your local thrift stores. As for the sweater, I actually recommended a polo instead so you can get the same effect visually without sweating all night.

THE HARD PART

This is when you have to decide how in depth you want to go with the costume. There are tons of amazing tutorials on sites like Instructables on how to make animal masks but I chose two easier options for mask/tail/nose options below.

EXTRA FUN
If you want a little extra sumin’ sumin’ to go along with your duds, pick up an inexpensive ski mask to become Mr. Fox the Theif. After all , we are just a bunch of wild animals.

  2. This is frickin’ fantastic. I would totally try this if I wasn’t afraid that upon donning this costume for a second, I would be struck by lightning and killed instantly for infringing on the awesomeness that is George Clooney.

That and the fact that it would cost more than 11 dollars. That’s my typical Halloween costume budget.

    All douchery aside, great post!
