Maybe you’re looking to save a few bucks or the current theater choices just aren’t cutting it. Whatever the case may be, sometimes it’s just as nice to sit at home and watch a good flick. Take a look at this week’s picks for some At-Home Alternatives to the weekly cinema options.

Instead of Taken: Taken 2

I don’t know when it happened, but one day Liam Neeson went from your ordinary, mild-mannered actor, to a raging bad ass. Let Neeson be a lesson to you, it’s never too late to snap necks for a living. If you can’t catch Liam using his “particular set of skills” in Taken 2, stay home and watch what started it all in Taken.

Instead of V/H/S: Tales From the Darkside

Oh, I love horror anthologies, which is why I’m eagerly waiting to see V/H/S. If you’re like me and you need something to satisfy your hunger for horror, look no further than Tales From The Darkside. TFTDS is a lesser known horror anthology compared to Twilight Zone and Creepshow, but it definitely holds its own; it’s about a boy who is caged and about to be eaten by a witch, so he tells horror stories to stall his impending doom. If you can find it, watch it!

Instead of Seven Psychopaths: In Bruges

Both Seven Psychopaths and In Bruges have the same director, Martin McDonagh. I for one loved In Bruges even if it was hit or miss with the other FTS’ters. If you can’t make it out to see Seven Psychopaths, you’ll still get the same feel with In Bruges.

Prometheus (2012)

I have been waiting FOREVER for this to hit the shelves! Prometheus is one of those movies that generate more questions than it answers, and I’m okay with that, I feel it really adds to the rewatch value. Fan who are looking for a true Alien prequel will be left disappointed, but for those who understand the premise of Prometheus will enjoy it. I just got giddy thinking about all the special features this disc is going to be loaded with, ermegherd!!

Strange Sex (2010)

Yes, I know, Strange Sex isn’t a movie. I’m a sucker for just about anything on TLC and this show is beyond intriguing. Case in point, where else can you see a woman without an vagina and the man with the world’s biggest penis without paying $7.99 a minute and worrying about weird credit card charges?

Strange Sex Netflix Synopsis: This is the ultimate series on extreme sexual disorders and anomalies. Many of these scenarios might sound funny, or even desirable, but for those who must live with them, sex can be a nightmare.

What do you plan on watching this week, at home or otherwise? What do you think of my choices?
