Maybe you’re looking to save a few bucks or the current theater choices just aren’t cutting it. Whatever the case may be, sometimes it’s just as nice to sit a home and watch a good flick. Take a look at this week’s picks for some At-Home Alternatives to the weekly cinema options.

Instead of Marvel’s The Avengers: Spiderman

You know, that other Marvel guy not in The Avengers. If by some stroke of bad luck you can’t make it to see Marvel’s The Avengers this week, stay at home and watch one of the super hero films that got the ball rolling. Also, it will be nice to remember that Toby McGuire used to do stuff!

Instead of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel:

Just go see Marvel’s The Avengers in theaters. We all know you are anyways…

Haywire

This has been our since last week but it’s certainly one to pick up. This fun film has everything in it for a great film night in: badass action, a kick ass female lead, cool  Steven Soderbergh style and a great cast. I think pretty highly of this film and would recommend giving it a try. I have a feeling most people will be pleasantly surprised with the experience. Oh, and it’s way better than the generic action film the trailer would have you believe it is!

Pet Sematary (1989)

One of my favorite Stephen King adaptations, Pet Cemetery is one of those ultimate creep show horror films. The premise alone is scary but the film takes to a level in line with the book (for once!) Maybe I love this film so much because I enjoyed it as kid or maybe it’s because fellow FTSer Jess and I used to watch it in high school while eating pudding in my room but whatever the case I think the film holds up. Any other PC fans out there or is it just me?

Pet Sematary Netflix Synopsis: Dr. Louis Creed’s (Dale Midkiff) family moves into the country house of their dreams and discover a pet cemetery at the back of their property. The cursed burial ground deep in the woods brings the dead back to life — with “minor” problems. At first, only the family’s cat makes the return trip, but an accident forces a heartbroken father to contemplate the unthinkable in director Mary Lambert’s horror film based on a novel by Stephen King.

What do you plan on watching this week, at home or otherwise? What do you think of my choices?
