  1. Great cast this week gang. I'll gladly Skype in with my recommendations just let me know when!! Just waned to quick throw my 3 Movies I Need To Give A Second Chance to:

    3. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Finally saw this last night but the pacing and overdrawn performances bored me so much that I actually fell asleep. I've never fallen asleep in a theater before and it's kind of embarassing to admit. But I HAVE to give this a second chance when it comes out for personal viewing.

    2. JFK
JFK is another film that displeased me with its slow pacing and static characters. Ususally an Oliver Stone film pulls me in and keeps me going but, alas, this did not and I was in and out of the film until finally I gave up, sealed my red envelope and sent it back. It's floating around on my queue somewhere and some day, I'm gonna give this a second chance.

    1. The Lord of The RIngs Trilogy
Maybe it's because I haven't read the books, but I never understood what as so appealing about this Trilogy of films. Yes it takes us to an amazing world and the visuals are amazing and the cinematography is breathtaking but outside of that, the content never pulled me in. I work with some people who are intense "Ringers" and they watch the extended versions and have marathons often. I MUST give these films a second chance so I can be on my game for when the Hobbit comes out in December. The last time I read the Hobbit was in 5th grade and I don't remember a thing about it.

  2. I had a similar reaction to Tinker Tailor and I would also want to give it another shot too. I couldn't get into it at all but I don't think it was a bad movie so maybe on a second viewing I'd enjoy it more.

  4. Great idea for a list – I’m sure I could come up with a list of 100s of these, and most would be older flicks that I didn’t care for the first-time around. However, I have so many more older flicks that I need to watch a first time that I probably won’t get to to many second chances any time soon.

Ben Button is a very good one, though. I didn’t care for it too much the first time (outside of its effects and beauty and even performances), the Gump thing bothered me too much and it ultimately felt empty.

Lindsay, we talked The Shining just the other day and I had to reference you and your Godfather experience. I’m jealous that you were able to go in so fresh to it – I had about the opposite effect with Shining.

    • Aw man, that always sucks when a great movie is spoiled or doesn’t live up to the hype. I’ll definitely give that podcast a listen when it comes out. Did you not like The Shining or was it just spoiled for you?
