Directed by Ruben Fleischer. Starring: Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride and Nick Swardson. 30 Minutes Or Less (2011) IMDB says: “Two fledgling criminals kidnap a pizza delivery guy, strap a bomb to his chest, and inform him that he has mere hours to rob a bank or else… “

Lindsay: 30 Minutes Or Less, the new film from Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer, teams up Jess Eisenburg with some of the funniest comedians out there right now including Danny McBride, Nick Swardson, Aziz Ansari and Michael Pena. Jesse plays Nick, a slacker pizza delivery guy, and he finally gets to chill out for once in a film role. All the supporting characters mentioned above are loads of fun. McBride’s character (Dwayne) is often a little too vulgar, but the dialogue works well with McBride’s signature style of humor. The stand out for me was Michael Pena’s weird gangster character Chango, which Pena nails, balancing oddball and scary dude surprisingly well.

What I like about the movie most is it’s run time. The movie flew by, and I was laughing every step of the way. There are no real shocks in the script or anything truly innovative happening but you get that feeling it will be a movie you can’t re-watch often and not become bored. Other pluses include some truly diverting action sequences and an energetic soundtrack.

Awesome Sidenote: The true story that 30 Minutes Or Less is based on is batshit. I would love to see a serious drama made focusing on the real case facts. People might  not believe it actually happened. Seriously, read it.
